How it works
Days and weeks are added as exact calendar days. Months and years move the month or year and keep the day number when possible. When the target month is shorter, the last day of that month is used, so 31 January plus one month is 28 February (29 in a leap year) and 29 February plus one year is 28 February.
Common uses
- Contract and notice periods, such as 30, 60 or 90 days from a date.
- Due dates and project deadlines.
- Warranty and trial expiry.
